Binghamton’s Parlor City Vegan

To follow, many pictures of an outstanding sandwich from Parlor City Vegan. But first my usual spiel: We need to celebrate eateries that are doing way more than offering processed, packaged foods on their menus. We need to support eateries who make food from scratch, partner with their community, and elevate vegan food to exorbitant levels… who make their own sauces, their own buns, who have that strong a love for quality, for veganism, for you and me. Because it actually matters a great deal! Parlor City Vegan is one such eatery.

Behold the Spicy Hen: chicken-fried shrooms (Hen of the Woods, of course) on a fantastic house baked bun with iceberg lettuce, spicy sauce, and ranch dressing. It sat at least 6 inches tall in front of me. Immediately I feared for the display of eating the nice men beside me would have to endure…

But first a bunch of pictures… Because I couldn’t get over its beauty.

I used the Boylan for scale.

Trying to bite it was difficult, but well worth the mess.

It was a lot of sandwich and I did a great job devouring it. My only criticism is that I really wanted a pop of pickle.

You got to try this sandwich. Or one of their other dishes like their housemade chicken wings, housemade truffle mac and cheese, poutine, Reuben with housemade corned beef… you get the click of the story here? Housemade is best made. Thank you, Parlor City Vegan, for the real deal vegan eats.
