And So Are the Days of Our Lives…

This year, the summer seems endless. I never know what day is and thus time is passing in giant chunks of leisure. This is my daily life right now. Until it isn’t. So I am basking.

Above, an amazing tempeh rib special from Red Fern. Cornbread, sweet potato mash, pilaf and tempeh ribs.

Enjoying the blue skies and summer temps on the porch…

I’m officially obsessed with this salad from Red Fern. It’s aptly call “Endless Summer” and it has greens slathered in a peach-lime vinegarette, watermelon, strawberries, sunflower seeds, cashew-macadamia cheese dollops. It is absolute perfection.

Practicing light painting with the littlest.

The best vegan ice cream in Rochester… Hedonist. Just look how fudgy! Maybe I shared this picture already?

Delivery… trying to find my Indian spot here, but it is rough. They’re all very expensive, unlike in Brooklyn. This was really yummy cauliflower and naan.

Ok, we’re at SwillBurger again, but this time toasting that I now live just an easy walk away from my favorite vegan burger in Rochester.

There it is.

Another drink because we don’t have the kids…

Making Butter Tofu… I believe this was the recipe. My guy loved it.

Yummy dish timed right.

Getting things in order in the spare room…

Sushi.

My back to school dress now used for Back to School night… this time as a care-giver!

Chipotle picnic in the graveyard

Some vegan treats from Tree Town Cafe

My new baking area. Isn’t it awesome?

Still getting used to a new oven. Though these were a little off, they’re the best I’ve made so far.

The spare bedroom is basically all my old bedroom stuff. Just in time for my guest!

Nelly’s Organic bars. The very best in vegan chocolate bars

Date night at Crisp. They have such a great menu. My cocktail was called Join Me On The Porch It’s Snow Queen Vodka, hibiscus tea syrup, lemon juice, ginger liqueur, and a splash soda. So good.

Texas Caviar: Black-eyed peas, black beans, onions, peppers, corn, tomatoes, and a light
vinaigrette, served with house tortilla chips.

The Grain Bowl… Ancient grains, power blend greens, green onions, green apple, dried
strawberries, fresh blueberries, toasted walnuts in a house light maple vinaigrette. It was good, but the freeze-dried strawberries were kinda weird.

We got a slice of Speculoos Ice Cream cake from Isotope Desserts. Really freakin’ good.

More meals I am making. This is broccolini and rigatoni in a pesto sauce. Roasted cherry tomatoes on ciabatta with our respective cheeses.

Another room I am working on… the downstairs bathroom. A mirror finally!

Ok, back to this perfection. The leftovers. This vegan cheese is so good: Nuts For Cheese

A sweet treat from Red Fern. Their apple pie cake… way too cinnamon-y

Play time

Can’t stop stepping in the water. This time it is Irondequoit Creek at Channing H. Philbrick Park.

A latte from Winter Swan Coffee

I love this stuff: Mother Raw Lemon Tahini. I can literally drink it from the bottle.

Trying to remake the aforementioned Endless Summer Salad

Well, that’s all for now. Heading back to NYC for a few days for lots of obligations.
