And on the 10th Day
She Rested…

Ah, a day of rest. Having settled into West Palm Beach, all that was on the itinerary was some food and some rest. We stayed local, sampling some of her new neighborhood’s eats. A light lunch at Celis Produce: Here is the TATA: tempeh, avocado, tomato, arugula with sunflower seeds and herb aioli.

And my Avocado with Everything Seasoning, Smashed avocado, cashew cream cheese, everything bagel seasoning. Delicious but a lot of moisture for the depth of the bread.

Dinner at Darbster, an all-vegan restaurant that contributes its profits to animal organizations. We went the sharing route–two apps and two desserts in lieu of entrees. First, Palm Cakes, crispy hearts of palm cakes, caper remoulade on baby greens.

Beet Tartare–roasted beets, avocado, cucumber, jalapeΓ±o ponzu. This is always a favorite of mine. I kind of always have to order it.

The desserts were larger than like. Another of my must-orders when available, the Hummingbird Cake–a traditionally southern cake classic–three layer banana, pineapple, pecan, cinnamon with a touch of vanilla and vanilla cream cheese icing. Drizzled and dressed for my mouth.

The tall Sundae with local gelato, berries, and chocolate sauce.

After some good eating, it was time to stock up for camp tomorrow on The Keys. It ain’t over yet, FL.
