Upscale Mexican in Bay Ridge

Having a lot to catch up on, I met up with a friend at a neighborhood spot I have been eyeballing since I caught wind of their vegan option. Aleli is an upscale contemporary Mexican restaurant that’s been open on 3rd avenue for about a year. Their gorgeous space promises a great meal… and fulfills.

To start, their traditional guacamole. Sublime.

And the vegan option.. the Vegetables with Pipian Verde. It’s mixed vegetables, pumpkin seeds in a Pipian Verde sauce, which is a green mole. It was fresh, light, and gently spiced. Again, very impressive, though I wanted a little rice.
