Abandoned Mt. Tom Ski Resort

The Mount Tom Ski Resort in Holyoke, Massachusetts operated between 1960 and 1998. Now the hiking routes of Mt. Tom State Reservation, the abandoned ruins have sat within the nature for decades, only accessible by foot. Though I actually climbed Mount Tom in 2008, I never found my way to the ruins but attempted to a couple of times–as recently as a few weeks ago. But this trip was a definite. I knew the route and was happy to discover the remains… while there are still some left. In 2018 and in 2020 parts of the decaying resort were destroyed by fire. There was no fire at the time of this visit… just a whole lot of ice.
