A Visit to Beets & Carrots in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn

Bay Ridge, Brooklyn has a magical eatery… an eatery with high standards–ingredients, technique, presentation. Labeled as “farm to table” and “New American,” Beets & Carrots never disappoints. A late celebration of our respective birthdays was all the occasion Ang and I needed to treat ourselves to a special meal.

Here is the housemade beet and carrot hummus with some oiled and warm pita bread. It’s garnished with a shaving of horseradish.

So flavorful and fresh

The Beet Bucatini with Swiss chard, mushrooms and almonds with vegan adjustments. This place does no wrong.

The secret cake not on the menu that is vegan! This spiced pineapple cake with a scoop of vegan ice cream was a lovely surprise!

It wasn’t the most photogenic cake, but I was so pleased to learn they had a dessert option for me.
