A Few Vegan Bites in N.H. & V.T.

In case you are ever near Nashua, New Hampshire and are a vegan on a road trip, let me tell you how perfectly Pressed Cafe will serve your breakfast purposes. First, good coffee. Bring in your thermos to top it of so you are good for the rest of the morning. Secondly, water with mint and ginger for free for your big travel mug. So bring that in too. Those two things alone make it a worthy stop.

Now add this: a vegan section on their menu including breakfast options, Golden mylk (yes!!!), easy ordering at the counter and introvert-friendly tables of your choosing. The only evidence of my visit are these two pictures as I accidentally deleted all the pictures I took with my good camera in a hasty fit of memory card clearing… including a beautiful shot of the Golden Mylk. But here is my Vegan Hummus Bagel with house-made hummus, Roma tomato, a breaded eggplant, cucumber, and lemon tahini dressing on an everything bagel.

Now that’s how to start your day!

Later, lunch in Montpelier, Vermont, the state capital. I headed to The Skinny Pancake for a vegan crepe and a bubbly Maine Root.

I got that crepe up there: Housemade Seitan, organic baby spinach, caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and basil sunflower seed pesto, in a vegan crepe shell. Yummy. It certainly hit the spot.
