A Day in the Bronx & The Vegan Factory

Before I leave New York City, I wanted to visit my paternal grandparents gravesites. So a day trip to the Bronx would be on the itinerary. They are both in a cemetery very easy to access from my first stop in Ridegwood, Queens. ❀️

I really hardly ever go to the Bronx, so I tried to make a full itinerary, including a vegan food option: The Vegan Factory.

Pretty decor inside

I went for the El Vegan Cubano: Shredded pulled mushroom, Swiss cheese, seitan bacon, pickles, and our TVF garlic mustard sauce. I appreciated it was mushroom-based. It was very flavorful and satisfying!

Next a stop at the Bronx’s Little Italy… Arthur Avenue. I had never been! So I felt like I had to check it out. I think I was expecting it to be more old school Italian. Granted I didn’t explore too deep, but there doesn’t seem to be much of a vegan draw as you might imagine.

Love some of the older signage that is still around.

My steam was gone after having fought so much traffic the last few days, I wanted to stop driving… but first, a drive back to Brooklyn that of course would take an hour and a half.
