π»π Stars & Sunflowers on Long Island’s North Fork
September 24, 2022
A gorgeous night shoot within one of the North Fork’s sunflower fields…
… these beauties are like no sunflowers I’ve ever seen! With lots of petals in the center, they basked in the night sky illuminated by an iPhone.
Even at this late hour, there were many bees getting their drink on.
How beautiful are these!
The Milky Way inside the light pollution.
The SpaceX launch in CT was visible from where we were. We had initially freaked out thinking we had seen a U.F.O. It was a surreal display of light that then quickly disappeared. (Photo by Tonya S.)
Later, when looking at my shots, I think I might have caught it on the way up. These pictures were right before we saw the lights.
Kind of annoyed an old geezer from my astro club claimed it was just an airplane. But notice an airplane below this much brighter triad of light. I have photographed a ton of planes during night shoots. Never do they look like this.
